Images of The New Yankee Stadium

Courtesy of a good friend of mine, Carlos Torres, here is some looks at the new Yankee Stadium from the inside…

Thank you Carlos.

Looking pretty amazing. Bare in mind the complete construction of the new Yankee Stadium is estimated to be around 1.6 billion dollars (including building of a new Metro-North stop at the Stadium). That’s almost three times as much as Citi Field (The new home of the Mets).

And then there’s the news today that the Yankees’ are asking for another $259 million in tax-exempt bonds and $111 million in taxable bonds, on top of $940 million in tax-exempt bonds and $25 million in taxable bonds already granted for its $1.3 billion stadium. Not sure the team had in mind the economic spiral we’re currently in, when they planned this out in 2001.

  1. I am mad as hell about the new stadium. At ifrst the talk was that George was going to foot the bill for the whole construction. The Bronx and the City were out of the cycle. All we had todo was give-up the Park in which our children play in. Well, foolish us we are still going to pick-up the bill for something that we should have left alone….
You amd I are never going to see any of these incredible box seats….WE the simple fans are still going to be sitting in the bleechers sweating in the noon day sun because we are the real fans….
Who are the Yankees catering to the corparations and the rich The fair weather fans that can afford to pay for those great seats while we all salavate here. Get ready the new $$$ numbers are coming and we might well be out of $$$ to keep our anything seats….
Sorry hillman4mayor We didn’t need a new stadium the real fans would have come out winning or losing seasons because we are the fans…..
